Role Purpose

The Regional Account HSSE Lead will be responsible for implementing and managing HSSE on one of the JLL’s Work Dynamics Client accounts. The most important objective of this role will be ensuring that our clients, our employees and sub-contractors return home safely at the end of their working day. 

The role is highly visible, and the work is fast-paced. The successful candidate must ensure that critical stakeholders, such as employees and clients, receive timely, relevant information and appropriate counsel for HSSE Matters. They must have an acute eye for HSSE risk and be able to foster a strong health and safety culture and deliver world class HSSE results, improved productivity and flawless execution.

As a member of the Work Dynamics HSSE team, they will support the implementation of the JLL HSSE strategy and the role reports directly to the Global Account HSSE Lead.

Day-to-day accountability is to the JLL Regional Account Director with regular reporting on HSSE performance across the region to the account leadership team and the client Head of Health & Safety.

Other key stakeholders include the account regional Operations leads, account country leads, Engineering, Risk & Compliance, Finance, HR, Projects and Client Corporate Real Estate Team leads.

What this job involves

Performance

Act as focal point for HSSE across the region.Implement JLL Work Dynamics HSSE strategic objectives and bring them to life for the region, ensuring effective operational relevance.Manage and reduce operational risks across the region by providing guidance and advice on health and safety risk management at all levels.Digitize and automate HSSE processes where possibleEnsure a continued working knowledge of relevant current legislation.Identify improvement opportunities and support the account team in identifying practical cost-effective solutions and controls for HSSE risks.Facilitate implementation of processes to achieve compliance with account KPIs.Oversee and where necessary manage investigations into HSSE incidents or accidents.Coordinate the implementation of HSSE monitoring procedures for timely internal performance reporting.Any other duties deemed appropriate to the role as determined by the Global Account HSSE Lead and/or other senior directors.

Leadership

Foster a culture of safety across the region and implement the JLL Global HSSE culture program.Lead, manage and develop the account regional HSSE team maintaining an appropriate structure to ensure operational HSSE management.Support account HSSE team members in developing relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.Proactively develop and manage client relationships ensuring expected service levels are achieved.Deliver a consistent training program aligned to the Global HSSE training requirements.Deliver an exceptional quality of service to the Client, as reflected by client feedback.

Standards

Oversee the implementation and maintenance of JLL Global HSSE standards and operational controls, (i.e., process, procedures, and guidelines) ensuring compliance with HSSE obligations and JLL’s HSSE aspirationsIdentify and align JLL HSSE practices to Client HSSE standards and requirementsImplement HSSE strategy and operating protocols for the safety performance of JLL’s contractors and supply chain vendors.Oversee the successful delivery of HSE regulatory responsibilities and best practices to secure regulatory compliance, including management of change related to new and revised legislation.Oversee the successful management of assurance for the HSE program, while supporting growth strategies related to the client, JLL and/or national and industry standards.

To apply you need to be / have:

Experience

A minimum 10 years HSE management experience within Operational Management systems and working with corporate clients.Experience managing HSE for multiple sites across multiple countries with a strong understanding of the HSE regulatory environment in major markets;Appropriate recognized Professional HSE qualifications and membershipsManagement system development, implementation and auditing experience;Experience of implementing HSE technology platforms and data management tools across multiple countries & regions.Experience managing a multi-cultural team of HSE professionals.Significant practical experience of problem solving HSE issues in a dynamic/diverse environment and implementation of risk control systems and processes.An agile approach to leadership and stakeholder management – able to operate effectively in a matrix structure.A strong orientation to goals and measurable results.Excellent communication skills to appropriately coach and educate at all levels of the account.

Positive, proactive, energetic approach to safety management.Evidence of strong interpersonal skills in order to establish credibility with colleagues and senior management and to foster effective working relations with a wide range of senior internal, client and external contacts.Influencing/negotiation skills with the ability to adopt different styles depending on the circumstances.Knowledge and understanding of Internationally recognized HSE Management systems.Identify measures or indicators of system performance and the actions needed to improve or correct performance, relative to the goals of the system.Strong cultural awareness: unwavering ethical standards; drives excellence and is innately collaborative. Understands how to be effective operating across geographies and cultures.
