EMEA Claims Operations Analyst

 

Role Purpose:

 

EMEA Claims Operations MI/BI team (Management Information & Business Intelligence) is required to provide deep data insights to COG, regional EMEA Leadership & local claims clusters/countries heads and SLT. 

This ranges from typical claims trend analytics with already defined KPI’s, trend developments over time, up to sophisticated predictive trend forecast & staffing models with respective management recommendations. 

Basic EMEA Claims data generation is strategically placed with an offshore team. However, advanced data interpretation & KPI trend analysis is strategically placed onshore, close to the business Regional Claims Managers, Claims Country Managers & Line of Business heads. 

All intellectual property from the MI/BI team must be properly documented and a solid back-up for all tasks must be put into place, avoiding at all costs a single man dependency. Any time periods where no one has regionally the skills & knowledge to execute ad hoc requests mut be avoided with disciplined planning and typically expected workload fluctuations in such a team.

 

 

Responsabilities:

 


1.    The Business Intelligence Analyst will be accountable for data analytics & advanced data generation, accuracy, timeliness and where needed communication/escalations to stakeholders. 
2.    Establish a strong understanding & connection with IT data sources where needed to generate, validate & discuss data sources and validity. Communicating & building sustainable relationships with Claims Handlers, IT, Data and actuarial department as well as other key internal departments in Chubb EMEA.

4.    The Business Intelligence Analyst will monitor delivery / performance of MI/BI to support data generation activities and is expected to have a good understanding of processes.
5.    Get operational where required with ongoing projects that are identified throughout a given year as MI/BI critical or where data interpretation and generation is needed.
6.    Strong focus on Chubb’s Claims Craftmanship modules & MI/BI relevant training on all Chubb systems, data manipulation & digital innovations.
7.    Actively drive self-studies to assure to be up to date & assure sustainable knowledge bench-strength.
8.    To work within the framework of CHUBB ethical and service standards and adhere to current WFH local regulations.
9.    Demonstrate flexibility, agile attitude, team cooperation, lean & 6Sigma mindset and long-term business thinking. 

 

Requirements

Strong interpersonal communication skills with the ability to quickly understand strategic business requirements. Also, the ability to self-prioritise & deliver on time and escalate where the support is required.Working knowledge & Oversight of building data/reporting solutions leveraging data inputs from different enterprise systems (e.g. IBM Netezza, Microsoft SQL Server, IBM DB2 etc.) Working knowledge of reporting tools such as Qliksense, Qlikview, Cognos BI, SSRS or similar reporting tools.Solid knowledge of SQL querying & scripting; fluency is desired. Understanding of data lake/data warehouse concepts & design principles. 

Professional experience:

Fluent in English and one/two other relevant local languages preferred. German/French/Spanish is recommended.University degree in Business Administration or Mathematical/Statistics science preferred or equivalent qualifications in an international environment of a global corporation or consulting. Required for this role in EMEA Claims Operations is clearly strong sense of execution & accountability with ability of explain complex matters in a simple way with the main stakeholder. Such as internal stakeholder RCCM’s, Claims Director’s, LOB heads and SME’s in the respective areas. Also very strong analytical thinking on a regional level is required and being able to drive conclusions in anticipating future trends and develop relevant hypotheses to be verified or falsified using best data insights.A sense of entrepreneurial mindset is expected, with the ability to lead meetings with tight data delivery deadlines and under pressure. Very Strong communication skills and again outstanding ability to explain complex fundamentals in simple terms. At least 5 years plus relevant work experience in Insurance or equivalent industry. Since this is an EMEA regional position, strong cultural understanding of each geography is expected. 

 

Position may require moderate travelling in EMEA but not a must in today’s WFH & virtual set up.
