**Job Title: EMC Test Engineer**
**Job Location: Redmond, WA (Onsite)**
**About the job you’re considering**
As an EMC Test Engineer specializing in consumer products, you'll ensure that devices meet strict electromagnetic compatibility standards across global markets. To make sure that products operate reliably in various environments—without causing or suffering from electromagnetic interference.
**Your role**
+ Conduct EMC tests which includes, Radiated/Conducted Emissions (Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, USB-C, HDMI ports), Electrostatic Discharge (touch screens, keyboards, chassis), Surge, Fast Transients, Voltage Dips
+ Ensure compliance with standards like, CISPR 32, FCC Part 15, EN/IEC 61000 series and National-specific regulations (e.g., VCCI, CCC, KCC)
+ Collaborate closely with product design teams to Review PCB layouts, shielding effectiveness, and grounding strategies. Also, recommend component and housing design changes to minimize EMI
+ Develop custom test setups for product configurations (including peripherals)
+ Document and report findings with clear recommendations
+ Support pre-compliance evaluations during prototype stages.
**Your skills and experience**
+ Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or related discipline
+ 3 years of EMC testing experience—preferably in consumer electronics
+ Strong hands-on experience with spectrum analyzers, LISNs, and semi-anechoic chambers
+ Solid understanding of consumer products architecture (motherboard, chassis, thermal systems)
+ Ability to troubleshoot EMI issues and suggest effective countermeasures
+ Familiarity with product certification processes (e.g., CE, FCC)
+ Experience testing wireless coexistence in dual/multi-radio systems (Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, WWAN)
+ Knowledge of RF exposure compliance (SAR testing)
+ Working knowledge of automation tools or EMC-related scripting.
