Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Electromagnetic Compatibility Engineer to join our team at the Naval Surface Warfare Center in Dahlgren, VA. This exciting role involves supporting a new program focused on testing and evaluating EMC/EMI effects of shipboard sensors on Navy vessels and platforms. As part of an established team of EMI/EMC/Electrical engineers, you will contribute your expertise to ensure the optimal performance of sensors on Navy platforms.
ResponsibilitiesSupport Test, Evaluation and Integration efforts of Navy EM and EMI/EMC issues of field systems and field fixes.Identify EMC vulnerabilities of the systems being tested.Develop and execute test plans and procedures.Analyze test data, create test reports, and brief results to leadership.Essential SkillsElectrical engineering expertise.Experience with EMC testing and test bench tools.Proficiency in electrical testing.Additional Skills & QualificationsDegree in Electrical Engineering or Physics.Active Secret Clearance.Experience testing RF Sensors and systems in a collegiate or professional environment.Familiarity with test equipment including spectrum analyzers, RF probes, signal generators, EMI receivers, and anechoic chamber testing.Experience with Test, Evaluation, and Integration of Navy RF Sensors and Systems.Work Environment
This role requires working onsite five days a week at Dahlgren, focusing on Shipboard Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) improvement of fielded Navy systems such as radars, sensors, communications systems, and electronic warfare systems. The work involves testing and analyzing the EMC of fielded systems to identify areas for improvement.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $90000.00 - $100000.00/yr.
