Embedded Software Engineer
Job Title: Firmware EngineerJob Description

We are seeking a talented and motivated Firmware Engineer with over 5 years of experience to join our team in Malvern, PA. In this onsite role, you will have the opportunity to be a key contributor to the development of our next generation of electronic products. You will work closely with the product design team and hardware engineers to design, implement, and test firmware subsystems, utilizing cutting-edge hardware and embedded software technologies.

ResponsibilitiesDesign, implement, and test firmware subsystems in collaboration with product design and hardware teams.Utilize modern software practices and methodologies to enhance software development efficiency and quality.Apply Design for Reliability (DFR) and Agile and Lean software development methodologies.Write technical specifications for designs and coordinate with contract partners.Articulate ideas effectively within cross-functional discussions.Present design improvement ideas, issue resolution, and analyze technical data.Use sound engineering principles to identify and resolve system and component-level issues.Collaborate with global teams to ensure consistency and maximize synergies across software platforms.Take ownership of tasks and deliver without supervision, seeking help when necessary.Participate in collaborative activities and recognize the importance of teamwork.
Essential SkillsBachelor’s Degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field.5+ years of experience in firmware engineering.Proficiency in C and C++ in an embedded environment.Experience with processors such as Cypress PSoC, STM32, or other ARM-based processors.Familiarity with I2C, SPI, I2S, GPIO interfacing.Knowledge of network protocols such as MQTT, HTTP, HTTPS.Experience with Real-Time Operating Systems (RTOS).
Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience in UI development for embedded systems.Understanding of power efficiency strategies for battery-based systems.Experience with wireless communication protocols like Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and LTE.Knowledge of memory management in embedded systems.Experience with sensor integration via communication protocols.Familiarity with embedded operating systems such as RTOS, Zephyr.Proficiency with version control systems and development tools like GitHub.Strong debugging skills for embedded systems.
Work Environment

This position requires working onsite five days a week in Malvern, PA. You will work with advanced embedded products interfacing with providers, patients, and employees, executing algorithms and wireless communications.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Malvern, Pennsylvania.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $43.00 - $53.00/hr.
