Job Title: Embedded Software Engineer

Job Description

We are seeking a talented Embedded Software Engineer to join our innovative team. This role involves designing and developing software for the control box in the rocket, known as the avionics flight safety or termination box. The software will dictate the rocket's operations as it enters orbit, including discarding or releasing parts and terminating the rocket if necessary. This position offers the opportunity to work remotely.

ResponsibilitiesDesign and develop software for the avionics flight safety or termination box in the rocket.Test, troubleshoot, debug, and automate safety-critical software.Ensure adherence to safety compliance standards such as DO-178B/C, ARINC 653, RCO 319-19, RCC 324-11, and FAA 14 CFR Part 23/25/27/33.Develop software using C and C++ for embedded systems.Work with real-time operating systems such as Linux or FreeRTOS.Participate in flight safety certification processes and standards, including FAA certification.Essential SkillsExperience developing safety-critical software from scratch.Proficiency in at least one safety compliance standard such as DO-178B/C or ARINC 653.Familiarity with flight safety certification processes.Proficiency in C and C++ for embedded systems.Experience with real-time operating systems such as Linux or FreeRTOS.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience with full end-to-end certification of avionics products.Experience working with external vendors and IV&V verification contractors.Proficiency in configuration management.Experience using static analysis tools and methodologies.Knowledge of device drivers and board bring-up.Skilled in peripheral interfaces and protocols such as ADC and UART.Experience with Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL/HITL) systems.Familiarity with automated testing frameworks.Adherence to MISRA C++ coding standards.Ability to write and maintain requirements and traceability documentation.Participation in and leadership of design reviews.Application of risk-based thinking during development and test planning.Comfortable working within an Agile framework in a regulated environment.Work Environment

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $79.00 - $102.00/hr.
