At Stepping Stones Academy, we are fostering the next generation of scholars and exceptional learners that believe in the values of their knowledge and creativity. For over 20 years, we have proudly innovated new and effective curriculum with the Stepping Stones Children Centers. Our amazing educators have continuously worked towards a more dynamic learning experience through meaningful arts integration and project-based learning. This year, we are offering a new after school program for the children of our community. We wanted to provide a safe and creative environment for students to engage in the endless curiosities and wonders of the world. In our Stepping Stones Academy program, we have curated a set of classes that will teach valuable and practical skills of a 21st century scholar. These skills will act as a backbone for their journey as life-long learners. Our goal is to help build a strong academic foundation for our students, but we also want to provide new and exciting experiences in STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math) to children from grades K-6. Our classes are designed to teach new concepts, skills, and creative tools that will instruct our students to become better problem solvers. We want our students to have the confidence and courage to pursue their ideas and inventions. We hope to help nurture the future leaders of the world. Leaders who will help find solutions to the world’s problems. The first step starts with us, and we want to prepare our students for the endless opportunities ahead.

Stepping Stones Academy is seeking a passionate and experienced elementary educator to teach a Kindergarten/1st Grade combination classroom. This full-time position offers an opportunity to work in a collaborative and supportive environment focused on academic excellence and character development. Stepping Stones Academy teachers are instructional leaders, role models, and collaborators working toward a core mission of academic excellence and a culture of respect, compassion, and kindness. High academic achievement is the norm, and all staff are expected to foster a positive and engaging classroom environment. We are currently hiring for a full-time Kindergarten/1st Grade combination teacher. The ideal candidate will have at least two years of classroom experience and a passion for working with young learners.

Responsibilities Include:

Planning and implementing a standards-based curriculum using a variety of instructional strategies to meet students’ diverse needs. Creating and maintaining lesson plans that reflect a logical progression of learning objectives and activities. Establishing and consistently enforcing clear standards of classroom conduct. Creating a nurturing and engaging classroom environment appropriate to the developmental needs of students. Taking necessary precautions to ensure student safety and care for classroom materials and equipment. Encouraging students to strive for high academic and behavioral expectations. Guiding students toward achievement of curriculum goals, including clearly defined objectives for lessons and projects. Participating in team meetings and collaborating with colleagues regarding individual student progress. Fulfilling reasonable additional duties as assigned.
