Electrophysiology Technician
Job Title: Electrophysiology TechnicianDepartment: Cardiology Location: SCHI - Brighton Hours Per Week: 40 HoursSchedule: M - F 8:15AM - 4:45PM with possibility of 8AM - 4:30PMSign-On Bonus: $0SUMMARY:Assists with providing clinical and clerical support to medical providers, in collaboration with nursing and medical support staff, in a medical office setting RESPONSIBILITIES: + Runs continuous 12 Lead EKG during diagnostic procedures and monitors. + Ex: Vagal maneuvers, during device interrogations and re-programing with provider + Knowledge of which Anti-arrhythmic medications requiring 12 Lead EKG to be performed routinely at each office visit. + Proactively set up exam room with needed supplies such as staple remover, gauze, steri-strips and suture removal kit. + Perform the initial device interrogation + Proactively determines which implanted device patients has and set up appropriate device programmer in rooms. + Places programmer leads onto patient and deciphering which device may need it. + Travel to sites where EP attending Physicians are seeing patients, at times requiring travel to two different offices in the same day. + Rooming in access of up to 43 patients at times on the EP attending schedule along with 6-8 patients for EP RN schedule when Site Schedule are going on. + Patients are typically double and triple booked, either every 15 minutes or 20 minutes depending on the EP Physician. + Assist EP Nurses and / or Pacemaker Representatives with site checks and interrogation + Working knowledge of all vendors, remote monitoring equipment and options. Able to discuss with patients and instruct on home setup. + Maintains and troubleshoots electrophysiology equipment to assure operability and safety; equipment and performs weekly tests. + Maintains all device printers are in working order and ready for Electrophysiology and General Cardiology when needed. + Maintains professional relationships with device company representatives. + Gather more focused history of presence illness from Electrophysiology standpoint. + Keep supplies ready for routine device follow up by inventorying stock such as ink cartridges for pacemaker printer, pacemaker paper, defibrillator cables, EKG printing paper, surgical staple remover, structure remover kit, i.e. + Initiates requests for repairs and services with responsible device company representatives. + Performs all other related duties as required and / or requested based on the needs of the patient, department, and organization between general cardiology, site checks, tech schedule, device interrogations, heart monitors, ABP monitors, and EP all in one. + Obtaining necessary equipment or information for patient scheduling according to MD’s, PA’s, NP’s and RN’s. + Organize and maintain cleanliness of all programmer machines after every use. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: + None. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: + Associates degree preferred. + Experience in pre-hospital care activities or acute/critical care experience preferred. + Medical Assistant Certification preferred. EDUCATION: LICENSES / CERTIFICATIONS: PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: M - Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects; Requires frequent walking, standing or squatting. PAY RANGE: $18.00 - $23.82 CITY: Rochester POSTAL CODE: 14618 The listed base pay range is a good faith representation of current potential base pay for a successful full time applicant. It may be modified in the future and eligible for additional pay components.
