Electronics Technician I

This position is for an Electronics Technician to support prototyping, evaluating, troubleshooting, and repair of electronic/software/mechanical based products and tools, implementation of test methods and equipment, product development, documentation of work in Development and Sustaining Engineering. Ability to support the team in fabrication, testing, rework, validation, and reporting.

\n

Key Responsibilities

\n

·         Performs root cause analysis of failures identified in sustaining or product development and testing environments.

\n

·         Evaluate, rework and repair field failures and prototypes using, discrete components, ICs, electrical/mechanical hardware, fluids, and test equipment.

\n

·         Operate in-house test equipment in areas such as Electronic, Environmental, Fuels and Silo Labs.  Ensure facilities and equipment are operational and compliant through site validation and equipment verification.

\n

·         Prioritize and coordinate work plans with department or project engineers and managers. Effectively support multiple projects by understanding lab priorities to support business results.

\n

·         Works in a strong team environment with willingness to learn, share and mentor associates.

\n

·         Participate in and utilize Vontier Business System (VBS) initiatives to provide overall department growth and sustainment.

\n

·         Drive lab EH&S, 5S housekeeping initiatives, maintenance, and continuous improvement.

\n

Background and Skill

\n

 

\n

·         Excellent hands-on skills with electronics / electrical / mechanical

\n

·         Must be able to read and understand schematics, blueprints, and written instructions

\n

·         Minimum AAS degree (or equivalent experience) with technical background in electronics, fluid, and electro-mechanical devices preferred

\n

·         Related experience preferred

\n

·         Ability to understand and apply a variety of electronic and mechanical instruments

\n

·         Experience with Veeder-Root products preferred

\n

·         Conceptual understanding of component and system level testing and troubleshooting

\n

·         Includes SMD (surface-mount device) assembly and rework, JSTD soldering preferred

\n

·         Includes mechanical fabrication and assembly

\n

·         Includes cable assembly fabrication and design

\n

·         Strong aptitude for learning new skills

\n

·         Good computer skills

\n

·         Good organizational skills

\n

·         Good writing skills using Word, Excel and PowerPoint, with ability to accurately complete test reports

\n

·         Ability to write clean and concise technical documentation, e.g. Document test setup and procedures, process, analyze and report test data
