Job Description

HII Mission Technologies is seeking a qualified Electronic-Warfare Threat System Supervisor to oversee range operations and maintenance for the Navy Integrated Training Environment (NITE) at the Fallon NAS Site Range. This position holds overall responsibility for managing personnel, maintaining operational efficiency, and ensuring contractual compliance.

Essential Job Responsibilities

Provides technical expertise and supervision in operating, maintaining stationary EW Systems. Directs operations and maintenance in accordance with contract requirements. 
Directs the work of all contractor range personnel for assigned systems.  Applies advanced technical knowledge to solve unusually complex problems that cannot be solved by subordinate personnel.Provides oversight of site security, facility services, major/emergency repairs, corrosion control, range scheduling, equipment status reporting, transportation, and supply to ensure compliance with contract requirements.  Supports special tests, evaluations, equipment relocations, and new equipment installations as required.  Coordinates integration efforts with associate contractors.  Oversees organizational, intermediate, and depot-level maintenance on assigned equipment.Makes recommendations to improve or expand all facets of operations to include maintenance, overhaul, engineering, and logistics support.  Ensures economy of operation by improvement of work methods and procedures.Utilizes the IEMS to document maintenance and manage assigned activities and resources.Coordinates and work closely with other engineering, logistics, financial, and program management disciplines to define system specifications and requirementsVerifies and complies with engineering documentation standards and test proceduresSupports development of technical proposals and provide comments on the technical content and level of effort of the proposed scope of workDevelops, maintains, and produces technical documentation and system/subsystem specificationsInterfaces with customers at all levels from quotation to final design and test activities, design reviews, and technical working group meetings to comply with requirements and specificationsConducts site visits and experimental investigations, analyzes engineering problems, proposes solutions and alternatives, and provides recommendationsPerforms work and other position-related work as required and uses established policies and procedures and subject matter knowledge to complete assignments of moderate complexity

Minimum Qualifications 6 years relevant progressive experience with Bachelors in related field or 4 years relevant progressive experience with Masters in related field or  High School Diploma or equivalent and 10 years relevant progressive experience. Five years’ directly applicable experience maintaining radar systems. Must be experienced and knowledgeable in the areas of project. management, systems integration, configuration management, overhaul, and technical writing. Three years of supervisory and management experience. Five years’ experience with increasing levels of responsibility in complex electronic systems. Must posses a secret clearance. Three years’ operating experience with military search, acquisition, ground control, height finding or fire control radar systems.

Five years’ understanding/knowledge of:

Minimum Position-Specific Training Required:

Maintenance Management training. Quality Awareness Training. Possess a valid state Driver’s License.

 

 

Physical Requirements

Typical office environment with no unusual hazards, constant sitting while using the computer terminal, constant use of sight abilities while reviewing documents, constant use of speech/hearing abilities for communication, constant mental alertness, must possess planning/organizing skills, and must be able to work under deadlines. Work is occasionally performed in a shop or other facility environment that is moderately lighted, heated and ventilated. Occasional exposure to wet and/or humid conditions; fumes or airborne particles; outside weather conditions; and risk of electrical shock. Occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, extreme temperatures, and vibration. Routine travel to remote site facilities may be involved.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to walk; reach with hands and arms; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and work in tiring and uncomfortable positions. May require work in high temperature, dusty or confined areas. May require wearing and/or use of protective equipment. Routinely lifts items weighing 15-25 pounds and occasionally in excess of 45 pounds. May require climbing on structures, ladders, towers, and be properly trained in fall protection gear and procedures.
