This position is located at Central Office in St. Paul and may have the flexibility to telework, work a hybrid schedule, or work in the office. The incumbent will be required to make a telework arrangement with their supervisor. The incumbent will be expected to work in the office as determined by policy and discussion with their supervisor. This position manages the library's electronic information resources to leverage the department's investment in library resources, supports innovation initiatives, and enhances the knowledge base of the department, its partners, and customers. Responsibilities include: + Using online and print resources to conduct research, curate and publish topical news alerts. + Administering and managing library systems and developing agreements and negotiating contracts for web-based software tools and portals, while maintaining accessibility for users. + Revising, updating, and adding new content to the library website. + Collecting library statistics and providing trend analyses to inform leadership and planning efforts. + Identifying, selecting, and overseeing the purchasing of materials. **Minimum Qualifications** Three years of professional experience in library information services that demonstrate: + Experience applying the principles and practices of information science in areas such as circulation, cataloging, classification, reference, reference interviews, or online database systems. + Experience in research methods and analyzing reference materials. + Experience creating and/or editing information in web 2.0-based technologies that emphasize user participation, collaboration, and content generation, such as social media, topic alerts, and content management systems. + Experience applying interlibrary loan standards and practices. A master’s in library and information science may substitute for one year of professional experience in library information services. **Preferred Qualifications** + A master’s degree in library and information science from an American Library Association (ALA) accredited institution. **Additional Requirements** **Successful candidate must pass past-employer reference checks and criminal history checks** It is our policy that all candidates submit to a background investigation prior to employment.
