Electronic Repair Technologist I
PURPOSE:

The individual repairs internal and returned products, and performs various manufacturing support functions.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

Works effectively with Manufacturing & Engineering to find the root cause of product failures and implement corrective actionsAssists when needed with shipping of finished product and receiving raw material in the warehouseFollows maintenance schedules on manufacturing equipmentRepairs equipment in cases of breakdown and works with manufacturers to prevent future recurrencesTroubleshoots and reworks non-conforming product from the manufacturing processesTroubleshoots and reworks external product failuresReads and interprets schematics.Applies soldering techniques to highest quality standard.Documents manufacturing repairs using the NCR/RMA database.Analyses RMA units and enters RCA data into databaseQuality Control backup in Manufacturing.Effectively uses common electronic instruments and toolsUses Microsoft Office®, company ERP system software, wiki and database software.Ensure daily, weekly, monthly 5S requirements for the role are completed as requiredCollect, report and strive to achieve targets for any requested metrics in operationsAnnually set and work towards individual goals and targets which align to those of Operations and the companyContribute ideas, lead and/or participate in improvement projects including but not limited to: Quick Kaizens, Kaizen events, VSM events, etc.Helps operations with productivity and process improvements ie. Standard work, time studies, savings calculations, etc.Other duties as required

EDUCATION

Electronic Technician diploma or the equivalent combination of education and experience.

MANAGEMENT:

No direct reports

EXPERIENCE AND REQUIRED SKILLS:

Demonstrated hands-on ability with tools

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Works in an laboratory environment

Ability to move throughout the manufacturing and office areas.Alternates between sitting, standing, lifting of items and moving within the work area.Must be able to manipulate equipment used in performance of tasks.Other demands include but not limited to oral, written, and presentation/communications skills.
