Electrician
Job Description
Wabtec Foundry is currently seeking a Plant Electrician to join our team. This role requires a licensed Electrician with experience in an Industrial setting, who is versatile and practical, with strong troubleshooting skills.
Reporting to the Facilities Manager, the Plant Electrician will be responsible for addressing any equipment issues to support production activities, inspections and preventative maintenance on all equipment as required, support for continuous improvement efforts in the plant.
Responsibilities:
Repairs and maintains all equipment and machines within the building to ensure the efficient, safe operation of all machinery with the shortest down-timeInspects all machinery for defects and potential problems in accordance with preventative maintenance program, repairing and replacing parts as requiredModifies machinery and equipment as needed to support continuous improvement effortsRepairs, maintains and installs electrical components, wiring and electrical equipment of all machinery and facilities of the plantWorks with other skilled trades in the plant to troubleshoot and repair equipmentWorks with management and peers to plan repairs and projectsTroubleshoots equipment issues and carries out necessary repairsEnsures all electrical parts, wiring and equipment conform to electrical code requirements and are operating in a safe, efficient mannerIdentify and report any hazard(s) in the workplacePerforms preventative electrical maintenance procedures as requiredConducts electrical tests and maintains maintenance and repair records as requiredComplies with all company rules, policies and regulationsPractices good housekeepingPerforms other duties as may be assignedWorks with or assists other maintenance employees with other types of repairs, troubleshooting or removal/install of equipment when needed.Qualifications & Skills:
Electrical License issued in Ontario (442A or 309A considered)Minimum of 2 years or more experience in an industrial environmentWilling to be flexible for shift coverageExperience using hand and power toolsAbility to communicate in English (written and oral)Able to work independently and also be a team playerWilling to take challenges and show initiativeExhibits strong work ethicHealth and Safety
