Electrician

Location: Pontiac, MI

Shift: 3rd Shift | 

Position Type: Union (UAW Benefits) | 

Compensation: $39.92/hr + 3rd shift differential

Job Summary

Join JLL's facilities maintenance team as an Electrician providing essential maintenance and repair services to preserve building systems and manufacturing equipment. This union position offers comprehensive UAW benefits and the opportunity to work with advanced manufacturing process equipment, building automation systems, and critical infrastructure in a dynamic industrial environment.

Key Responsibilities

Manufacturing Process Equipment 

Maintain and repair tank farm operations, dispensing equipment, and compressed gas storage systemsService regenerative thermal oxidizers, oil mist collectors, and thermal control unitsSupport Class 7 clean room mechanical systems diagnosis and repairMaintain production process central exhaust systems and compressed natural gas facilitiesManage spare and replacement parts inventories for critical equipment

Electrical & Power Systems 

Perform maintenance on normal power systems to first disconnect \Maintain emergency power systems and uninterruptible power supply (UPS) systemsWork with pumps, motors, speed and feed systemsTroubleshoot controller programs including Allen-Bradley, Fanuc, and Siemens • Read and interpret electrical prints and schematics

Building Systems & Automation 

Maintain building automation and monitoring systemsCalibrate natural gas and water metersSupport building HVAC and mechanical systemsPerform preventative and predictive maintenance tasks

Safety & Performance Management 

Ensure employee safety training compliance and participate in safety concern processesComplete safety PM and repair tasks on scheduleUtilize pre-task planning methods and maintain safety standardsComplete help desk work orders within 24-hour timeframePerform environmental PM completion and reportingMaintain general housekeeping in common work areasRequired Skills

Experience & Certification 

Journeyman certification in Electrical, Machine Repair, or Mechanical craft areas (Required)Experience with pumps, motors, and speed/feed systemsWorking knowledge of electrical prints and schematicsExperience with controller programs (Allen-Bradley, Fanuc, Siemens preferred)

Technical Competencies 

Strong written and verbal communication skillsDetail-oriented with extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office SuiteAbility to perform preventative and predictive maintenanceUnderstanding of manufacturing process equipment and systemsKnowledge of building automation and power systems

Licenses & Certifications 

Current forklift and aerial lift operator's license (or ability to obtain)Ability to meet IPMP compliance requirementsCommitment to attend scheduled training and maintain certificationsPreferred SkillsTen plus years of facility maintenance experience in manufacturing environmentKnowledge of MAXIMO or similar computerized maintenance management systemsExperience with Class 7 clean room environmentsBackground in compressed gas systems and thermal oxidizer operationsFamiliarity with building automation systems and energy managementExperience with UPS systems and emergency power operationsKnowledge of natural gas facilities and meter calibrationPrevious union environment experienceAssociate degree in Electrical Technology or related field
