Electrician What this job involves

The Electrician will oversee the daily operation of the campus electrical power and lighting systems. Under general supervision, install, operate, maintain, alter, troubleshoot and repair electrical power and lighting distribution systems along with a wide variety of industrial electrical equipment. This position requires a high level of technical expertise with a variety of building infrastructure. The individual in this role must be available for on-call work. Off-hours shifts, evening, night and weekend work may be required.

What is your day to day?Operate, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair facility electrical systems and equipmentServe as subject matter expert on electrical, life safety, and fire alarm systemsInstall, repair, and maintain electrical controls, switching and motor controlsPerform preventive maintenance on electrical and building systemsAnalyze system operations and determine corrective actions for malfunctionsTroubleshoot and respond to operational and emergency situationsWork with NFPA-70E standards and appropriate Arc Flash PPEPrioritize work orders (preventive, corrective, and emergent)Maintain inventory of tools and supplies; submit purchase order requestsEnsure compliance with safety policies and hazardous materials handlingComplete required JLL and client training programsDesired experience and technical skills

Required

High school diplomaTeam player with strong interpersonal and communication skillsExperience with BMS and CMMS systemsProficiency with basic computer applications (MS Office, Outlook, Work Order Systems)Ability to operate electric hand tools and required equipmentPhysical ability to work in confined spaces, on ladders, and on roofsAbility to lift and carry heavy loads
