Job Summary

Maintains, troubleshoots, replaces and may install electrical circuits, equipment and appliances. Inspects and tests electrical equipment, lighting, signal, communication and power circuits. Changes lighting ballasts and all exterior lighting including fiber optic lights in pools. Performs all work in accordance with established safety procedures. Inspects completed work for conformance with requirements of local building codes.

Major Job Responsibilities Troubleshoots, repairs, inspects, tests, and maintains electrical systems and equipment, including but not limited to emergency generators, automated transfer switches, variable frequency drives, automated lighting controls, lighting dimmers, gallery louver controls, motor controls and electrical startersReplaces ballasts and light bulbs at Getty facilitiesSets up and removes power and lighting for eventsEnsures that motors, transformers and lighting fixtures have been installed according to specificationsEstimates time and material costs on electrical projectsInspects completed work to ensure compliance with local building and safety codes Qualifications High School/GEDCalifornia drivers license with less than three DMV points5+ years experience as a Journeyman electricianElectrician's license preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and wiring diagramsProficient computer skills and demonstrated experience with office software and email applicationsAbility to use a computerized work order tracking system and track materials usedFamiliarity with LA City electrical codesAbility to service, maintain and troubleshoot electrical equipment such as: variable frequency drives, motor control starters, electrical motors, automated lighting controls, relays, lighting dimmers, automatic transfer switches, emergency generators, portable generators and uninterruptible power systemsAbility to operate meggers and sophisticated electrical monitoring equipmentAbility to diagnose and test circuit breakers up to 480 voltsAbility to safely install electrical conduits and equipment Benefits and Perks
