The Electrician – Journeyman, Rodeo Refinery, under the general direction of the Maintenance Supervisor, performs any and all work for which qualified in a safe and efficient manner, including but not limited to repairing, insulating, altering, fabricating, removing, installing, assembling, troubleshooting and servicing a wide variety of electrical equipment, including motor controllers, starters, variable frequency drives, high voltage switchgear, electrical test equipment and electrical control system. The Electrician maintains and operates all equipment and tools required to support skills and sustains a well-kept work site. The Electrician acquires additional skills and knowledge as required to become a proficient multi-skilled employee. The Electrician assists other personnel in accomplishing their work for the safe and reliable operation of the refinery.

Completion of a (1) Certificate or degree from an accredited technology school or (2) Level 4 NCCER Electrician certification or (3) other accredited apprenticeship program that includes technical knowledge certification or (4) 5 of more years of industrial maintenance experience and has passed a final accredited technical knowledge certification Computer proficiency in Microsoft applications such as Word, Excel, and Outlook Certified General Electrician card from State of California Division of Industrial Relations SAP/CMMS experience Military training and experience Proactive and results-oriented Able to effectively interact with all organizational levels and value diversity Demonstrated communications and teamwork skills
The Rodeo Renewable Energy Complex is a state-of-the-art facility processing renewable feedstocks (waste oils, fats, greases, and vegetable oils) to produce vital transportation fuels, including renewable diesel and sustainable aviation fuels for California, Oregon, Washington, and British Columbia. The Rodeo facility has been providing energy and improving lives since 1896. The conversion from crude oil to renewable feedstocks was completed in early 2024, enabling the production of lower carbon-intensity transportation fuels. The converted facility reduces lifecycle carbon emissions by approximately 65% — the equivalent of taking 1.4 million cars off California roads each year. Compensation
The base pay range for this position is determined by the Collective Bargaining Agreement. Currently, this range is $35.83/hour to $55.13/hour (fully qualified journeyman) based upon qualifications. This position has a 7.5% Variable Cash Incentive Program target, 8% 401k match, and Cash Balance Account pension.
