What this job involves –

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Electrical System Owner to join our team. This role is responsible for managing and maintaining electrical power systems at assigned sites, ensuring safety, compliance, and optimal performance. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical engineering, excellent problem-solving skills, and a commitment to safety and continuous improvement.

Your day to day:

Principal Job Duties and Responsibilities:

Electrical Power Management:

Oversee electrical power systems at assigned sites, from utility service points down to 50 volt systemsManage medium and low voltage switchgear, circuit breakers, protective relays, generators, transformers, power distribution panels, motor control centers, panel boards, meters, power tools, and personal protective equipmentEnsure up-to-date single line drawings, short circuit studies, coordination studies, and flash hazard studiesSupport operation, maintenance, and repair of smart building systemsWork with Site ESO for testing, inspection, and correction of deficiencies in power system devices and equipmentMaintain equipment maintenance, repair, test, and inspection records in the CMMSRespond to power system emergencies and support site-based teamsServe as primary contact for electric utility companies regarding outages, reliability, and safetyMaintain site power system master plan, including current capacities and future needsOversee proper electrical installations, meeting applicable codes and standardsExecute annual Infra-Red (IR) thermal imaging scans and follow up on deficienciesCollaborate with engineering firms for power fault, coordination, and flash hazard studies

Electrical Safety:

Maintain site electrical safe practices and oversee the electrical safety programProvide electrical safety training and qualification per client Current Best Approach (CBA) 8016Conduct task-specific electrical safety qualifications for engineering personnel and site electriciansDevelop and manage energized electrical work permits processParticipate in electrical systems incident investigations and follow-upsReview proposed changes to electrical systems and Overall Risk Assessments (ORA)Ensure proper selection and care of tools, equipment, and PPELead internal & external electrical audits at client buildingsEnsure compliance with JLL OCP audit criteria related to electrical safety

Qualifications:

Education and Experience:

High school diploma or GED requiredMinimum two years of advanced technical training in a related areaJourneyman level qualification in a related fieldCollege degree in related engineering field or equivalent experience preferredExtensive experience matching the complexity and hazards of specific site electrical systems

Skills and Knowledge:

Thorough understanding of electrical system equipment, operation, and maintenanceKnowledge of OSHA regulations, industry standards, and local codesAbility to complete electrical systems D&C and O&M program checklistsQualified to assess hazards and safely manage work on high-voltage electrical equipmentProficiency in CMMS Work Order Systems and Microsoft Office suiteStrong interpersonal and communication skills (both oral and written)Ability to manage competing priorities and make decisions based on a broad range of dataEffective leadership and conflict resolution skills
