The Electrical Systems Lead Engineer is responsible for activities contributing to the design and development of products, solutions, and systems, including technical improvement of existing products and components. This role involves executing departmental operations planning or professional activities within a technical discipline, functioning with some autonomy while being guided by established policies and review of end results. The job allows modification of procedures and practices as long as the end results meet standards of acceptability in quality, volume, and timeliness. Electrical systems focus on components within the engine that affect control, electronics, and electrical systems. As a design engineer, you will execute the design, analysis, or evaluation of assigned projects within the electrical systems group, using sound engineering principles and adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and program requirements. This includes problem-solving to investigate electrical system field issues, reduce customer disruptions, provide manufacturing support, and support product design for Turbofan, Turbojet, and rotorcraft military (and their commercial derivative) engines. The Advanced Lead Engineer demonstrates leadership in communicating business goals, programs, and processes for an area or business segment. The role requires experience and expertise to solve problems and develop and execute objectives for both self and others, with the ability to impact short-term and some long-term business goals. Responsibilities include mentoring less experienced engineers in electrical component design, development, and testing, as well as engineering processes and tools. The role also includes ownership of Electromagnetic Interference (EMI) and lightning protection requirements to ensure compliance and system robustness. Activities encompass technical improvement of existing products, problem-solving for field issues, and supporting the development and testing of electrical components for our customers. **Job Description** **Roles and Responsibilities** + Execute the analysis, design, test, or integration required for control system electrical components, assemblies or systems that meet business standards and program / product requirements + Own Electromagnetic Interference (EMI) and lightning protection requirements, analysis, test and reporting to ensure compliance and system robustness + Have a strong sense of ownership for assigned electrical components and or systems including, but not limited to electronic engine controls, ignition systems and alternators, temperature, pressure, and advanced torque sensors + Define and lead testing of hardware, and document and communicate results of technical data generated + Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience. May lead small projects with low risks and resource requirements. Explains information; developing skills to bring team members to consensus around topics within field. Conveys performance expectations and may handle sensitive issues + Lead supplier and purchase service engineering teams to develop and qualify new electrical systems hardware products’ design and test + Formulate and implement plans to achieve technical requirements, schedules and contract commitments + Develop action plans to anticipate and respond to problems + Support Component, System Rig Simulator, Engine and Flight Qualification Testing + Participate as a presenter or reviewer in technical and program reviews with suppliers, technical experts, and external customers + Issue engineering drawings and other configuration management documents + Document technical data generated by the assigned project consistent with engineering policies and procedures + Provide timely communications on project status, business issues and significant developments + Participate on teams assigned to address organizational initiatives and generic issues + Define and lead development of new electrical system hardware, supporting resolution of production/field issues, creating new electrical component or EMI/Lightning programs plans, as well as leading the execution of New Product Introduction (NPI) & Continuous Improvement Program (CIP) programs with limited support from mentors and Controls Program manager. **Required Qualifications** + Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited university or college + Minimum of 3 years of experience in design engineering + Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required.
