Responsible for managing the activities and functions of Electronic and Software Engineering to improve quality, reduce costs, enhance manufacturability, and ensure business continuity, with a focus on changes to the design of current and new products.
+ Supervises and coordinates the activities of subordinates to facilitate the development and implementation of projects throughout their lifecycle.
+ Responsible for selecting, training, motivating, developing, and acting as a facilitator for staff while maintaining interdepartmental harmony.
+ Responsible for evaluating the performance of subordinates and creating appropriate development plans.
+ Proposes goals and performance indicators for the department, along with strategies and action plans to ensure their achievement.
+ Prepares proposals and manages the department’s budget (capital projects and expenses).
+ Reviews and approves tolerance stack-up analyses.
+ Reviews and approves simulation results.
+ Oversees the characterization and selection of electronic components.
+ Reviews and approves the results of product safety risk assessments.
+ Ensures the selection and approval of service providers in accordance with organizational standards.
+ Responsible for inventory management in their area.
+ Supervises and develops Engineering staff in the preparation of drawings, designs, cost estimates, and specifications for project development.
+ Reviews proposals for project initiation and closure.
+ Evaluates and approves the results of feasibility studies, validations, and/or verifications of processes and/or products.
+ Oversees the evaluation and analysis of design for excellence DfX (manufacturability, reliability, assembly, testing, serviceability, appearance, packaging/shipping, environmental impact), as well as concurrent engineering for new product development.
+ Supervises and coordinates the generation of project documentation.
+ Proposes and ensures compliance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and engineering function policies.
+ Promotes effective communication between Corporate and the plant for project development.
+ Performs activities following established procedures and in compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), QSR, and FDA regulations, with a high level of responsibility toward product quality.
+ Executes tasks assigned by their immediate supervisor according to departmental and company needs.
