Reporting to the Manager of Electrical Engineering, the Electrical and Software Designer will be responsible for leading developments of electro-optical test hardware and associated software. The position is primarily onsite supporting our manufacturing operation. In this position, the incumbent will be an integral member of the Engineering team whose responsibility is to create innovative electrical test systems to produce complex opto-mechanical assemblies. Developing specialized instrumentation and software programming, this individual will create productionized solutions to hold, measure, align and perform technical data evaluations for compliance to complex opto-mechanical assembly requirements. Midland offers a perfect blend of urban amenities and natural beauty nestled on the shores of Georgian Bay, making it an ideal place to work, grow, and belong. **Primary Responsibilities:** + Design & implement production equipment solutions to manufacture & test complex opto-mechanical assemblies + Troubleshooting of electro-mechanical/electro-optical assemblies and testing of electrical hardware/software to meet manufacturing needs + Create documentation for production equipment use and procedures for maintenance and calibration. + Applying digital automation to automate test data reporting to make the test data available and mineable digitally + Design and programming of embedded test systems to control higher level systems + Share in the commitment towards a positive workplace culture **Qualifications & Experience:** + Must have a post-secondary Electrical Engineering Degree or equivalent Technology Diploma and experience. + 0-4 years’ industry experience + Experience creating electrical schematics and troubleshooting of electrical hardware + Experience with Electrical Test Equipment such as DMM’s, Oscilloscopes, Signal Generators + Experience with languages such as Labview, Python, C and applying for hardware testing + Exposure to SQL or other relational database systems + Knowledge of field programmable gate array (FPGA) utilizing Verilog or VHDL + Knowledge of Industry 4.0 and Digitization of Factory Environment. + Ability to multitask & work well under pressure in dynamic environment + Highly motivated with a demonstrated positive attitude + Willingness to learn and acquire knowledge/understanding through study, instruction or experience _Raytheon ELCAN offers a competitive compensation package that includes incentive program, benefits, and pension plan._ _This position involves technologies regulated by the Canadian government’s Controlled Goods Program and the Contract Security Program.
