Electrical Repair and Upgrade Specialist
Job Description SummaryAs an Electrical Repair and Upgrade Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in advancing and maintaining our GEV Installed base, specifically targeting MV7, MV6, SD7, and MV3 equipment. Your responsibilities will include executing repair projects and controller upgrades, ensuring these systems operate optimally. Reporting to the Manager of Canadian Operations, your work will focus on developing and implementing effective repair methodologies and strategies.

Power Conversion and Storage business works closely with end users in energy-intense industrial applications. We focus on offering integrated electrical systems. A strategy aligned to three major macro trends: Power Stability, Energy Storage and Industrial Electrification. 

Essential Responsibilities:

Plan and oversee electrical equipment repair and refurbishment at our Burnaby Service Facility, maintaining adherence to quality standards and specifications for MV7, MV6, SD7, and MV3 equipment.Analyze data to enhance our Failure Database and Site Equipment Database, identifying trends and optimizing maintenance strategies.Collaborate with service engineers to design and implement upgrade strategies, ensuring reliable controller upgrades through strategic layout and connection of control systems.Engage in the rebuilding and testing of electrical and electronic assemblies, focusing on MV7, MV6, SD7, and MV3 equipment.Conduct troubleshooting and root cause analysis to swiftly resolve technical issues, minimizing operational downtime.Integrate emerging technologies into repair processes to enhance efficiency, especially for MV7, MV6, SD7, and MV3 equipment.Build and maintain relationships with stakeholders to facilitate collaborative problem-solving and improve repair processes.

Required Qualifications:

1-2 years of experience in electrical/electronic repairs and upgrades.Training in electrical power technology, with an understanding of analog electronic circuits and principles.Proficiency with electronic lab test and measurement equipment (oscilloscope, function generator, etc.) for diagnostics and troubleshooting.Mechanical assembly and troubleshooting skills.Certification at the Technologist level.Ability to plan and execute the lifting, crating, and shipping of electronic power modules weighing up to 150 kg.Competency in operating drills, punches, benders, and other tools to facilitate construction and repair tasks.
