Reports To: Reliability and Energy Manager

Summary:   The Electrical Engineer is primarily responsible for providing in-house engineering services to assist our maintenance departments, provide project management and coordination with outside consultants and support long-term reliability of the equipment.

                       

Duties and Responsibilities include, but not limited to:

Meeting pertinent codes and safety regulations in all work.Establishing and maintaining complete and accurate technical files.Maintain familiarity with all systems to ensure the ability to provide the assistance necessary to maintenance or operation departments to keep these systems in good order at all reasonable times.Successful resolution of equipment failures and deficiencies.Working with operations and maintenance to evaluate equipment performance and propose improvements.Preparation of repair and preventive maintenance specifications.Project management to ensure safety of all work teams, effective and economic completion.Following company rules and regulations, while establishing effective and harmonious working relationships within the company.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical EngineeringWorking knowledge of transformers, protection relays, and medium voltage breakersStrong communication skills, both verbal and writtenAbility to learn company engineering and maintenance systems (Maximo, CAD, etc.).Substation experience

Preferred Qualifications:

Interest in power systemsExperience with projects 38kV to 345kVExperience with ETAP or SKM PowerToolsExperience with AC Electric Arc Furnace
