GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
Wyoming Fire Prevention and Electrical Safety is seeking a detail-oriented, independent employee to make a real contribution to the State of Wyoming in our agency. This position assists and educates the public on the requirements and process for electrical licensing in the state of Wyoming. They will gather appropriate evidence for a variety of situations and administer the correct path forward for electrical licensing procedures.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: The listed functions are illustrative only and are not intended to describe every function which may be performed in the job level.
+ Gathers, examines, establishes, analyzes, records, and maintains information in some type of records or data management system.
+ Enters all project information in database to be used later to compile project information for supervisors.
+ Enters data which will be used by agency (ies)/department in making decisions.
+ Maintains and monitors database and inputs new records into the database.
+ Receives and processes requests and updates information.
+ Researches to ensure transactions are accurate, legal and comply with state statutes.
+ Identifies and prepares reports as appropriate and as needed.
+ Files, keeps an inventory of files, and prepares files for archiving.
+ Designs computerized forms.
+ Perform a variety of tasks associated with management, implementation, evaluation and retention of records systems.
+ Compile data to create reports, bid proposals and other various agency uses.
+ Utilizes various types of software and databases.
+ Verifies legitimacy of requests for information, ensuring that nothing confidential may be used for fraudulent purposes.
+ Creates and disseminates reports to other agencies and/or staff.
+ Corresponds with public, other agencies, providing and/or gathering information.
+ Assists with quality assurance.
+ Receives, examines, checks for accuracy and verifies that required data has been submitted to satisfy the requirements of the office/agency or State statutes.
+ Provide statistical and technical support and/or training for the division/office/agency.
+ Troubleshoot various issues in databases.
Qualifications
PREFERENCES:
Preferences may be given to candidates with a strong background in customer services skills as well as database and records experience.
KNOWLEDGE:
+ Knowledge of the agency.
+ Knowledge of computer & software application, mathematical formulas, and spreadsheet software.
+ Knowledge of personal computers including software such as word processors, spreadsheets, relational data base programs, and hardware, such as scanning and imaging systems.
+ Knowledge of concepts and current practices of government management including budgets, personnel, purchasing and legislative and administrative processes.
+ Knowledge of statistical analysis and data compilation proficiencies.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
Associate's Degree (typically in Records or Data Management)
Experience:
0-1 year of progressive work experience (typically in Records and Data Management) with acquired knowledge at the level of a Records & Data Management Technician
OR
Education & Experience Substitution:
2-4 years of progressive work experience (typically in Records and Data Management) with acquired knowledge at the level of a Records & Data Management Technician

Necessary Special Requirements
PHYSICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:
+ Ability to lift 50 pounds or more
+ Some travel required
+ Typically, the employee may sit to perform the work, however, there may be some standing, walking, and driving required.
