Internship Details

Are you a 2nd or 3rd-year BE (Hons) student ready to explore a career in Electrical engineering? 

The Downer Summer Internship Programme offers an incredible opportunity to gain hands-on experience, develop practical skills, and discover if Downer is the right fit for your future. Apply today to join us in shaping the future of infrastructure across New Zealand!

Duration: 12 weeks (November 2025 - February 2026)New placements are available in the following locations: Christchurch, Palmerston North, Tauranga.Eligibility: Open to New Zealand Citizens or Permanent Residents only who are 2nd and 3rd-year BE (Hons) studentsApplication Deadline: 31 August 2025

Programme Highlights

Hands-on Experience: Engage in both onsite and office work to support our diverse projects.Skill Development: Enhance key skills such as planning, delegation, communication, and team motivation.Practical / Professional Hours: Earn 400 hours of work experience to complement your studies.

Agility: Be willing to relocate for the summer and adapt to various project needs across NZ.Growth Mindset: Show eagerness to learn, develop skills, and embrace challenges.Self-Motivation: Display initiative and a proactive approach to work.
