About the RoleWe are seeking a skilled Electrical Engineering Technician with expertise in PCB rework to support our Doordash Labs team. This role requires hands-on experience with printed circuit board (PCB) reworks, component replacement, and soldering in a high-precision environment. The technician will work closely with engineering teams to troubleshoot, modify, and rework boards, ensuring they meet exacting performance standards. You will report into Staff Electrical Engineer on our Electrical Engineering Team in our Labs Organization.
You’re excited about this opportunity because you will… Perform precise soldering, desoldering, and replacement of SMT and through-hole components; restore damaged pads, traces, and vias using advanced techniques; handle fine-pitch and BGA components with high accuracy Conduct visual inspections of PCBs; use oscilloscopes, DMMs, and other equipment to validate functionality and troubleshoot board-level issues post-rework. Work closely with design/test engineers to align on rework specifications, provide design improvement feedback, and document all rework actions and findings. Continuously improve rework techniques and processes for better efficiency and quality; stay updated on the latest PCB rework tools and practices. Maintain detailed records of rework processes and changes made to PCB assemblies. We’re excited about you because… You bring 2+ years of hands-on PCB rework experience, with a strong focus on SMT and BGA components, and you're ready to demonstrate your skills in our rework practice sessions during the interview You are highly skilled in precision soldering techniques, including micro-soldering, enabling you to handle complex and delicate rework tasks with confidence. You have a solid understanding of electronic testing tools and quality control processes, ensuring functional and reliable board-level repairs. Your excellent manual dexterity and strong analytical and troubleshooting abilities allow you to work with accuracy while interpreting schematics, layouts, and specifications.
