Job Description
Join our dynamic team as an Electrical Engineering Technician, where you will play a crucial role in assembling prototype PC Boards and assemblies for space applications and defense programs. This position involves hands-on tasks such as soldering, assembly, and repair, working closely with engineering teams to bring innovative projects to life. You will contribute to high-profile projects for the Navy, Space Industry avionics, and major defense contractors.
ResponsibilitiesAssemble and support high-quality electrical and mechanical systems for space applications.Perform soldering tasks, including through-hole and surface mount techniques.Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and engineering drawings.Collaborate with engineers to troubleshoot, test, and reassemble components.Conduct work under a microscope with small components like 20 and 32 gauge wires.Work according to NASA Space and Defense specs and J-Std with Space Addendum.Essential Skills3-7+ years of experience in soldering, through-hole and surface mount techniques, and PC board assembly.Proficiency in using a microscope for assembly tasks.Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and engineering sketches.Experience in testing, inspecting, and troubleshooting avionics electronics and electro-mechanical components.Additional Skills & Qualifications2+ years of experience in assembly for space, defense, or aerospace products.Familiarity with prototype, R&D, and new product development areas.IPC Certifications and experience with J-Std, ideally with Space Addendum.Work Environment
Work in a smaller shop environment that fosters teamwork and collaboration. The company is a product-oriented space-technology firm operating in commercial, space, and defense markets, providing rugged aerospace-grade data-acquisition and control systems. You will be working with high-end technology used in major space missions, including JPL NASA, Mars Rover programs, and Navy defense projects.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $30.00 - $38.00/hr.
