Electrical Engineering Professional Career Level
We are looking for an Electrical Engineer located in Santa Clara, CA, who is excited about working on projects that enable the heart of our clients’ business. Join us and you’ll have the chance to work on projects including semiconductor manufacturing and other state of the art manufacturing facilities. You’ll be accountable for schedule and technical quality of challenging engineering tasks, as you gain familiarity with the client’s expectations, scope, budget and schedule. You’ll also provide on-site assistance during startup, coordinate work activities with other staff members and the discipline lead. Your multi-discipline, highly interactive team will produce installation details, motor control center single lines, electric room layouts, motor control elementaries, connection diagrams, cable schedules, control panel layouts and grounding, lighting, and power plans. The position will also focuse on process chemical systems design and gas cabinet monitoring for critical Life Safety Systems that protect and enable the heart of our clients’ business. You will interface directly with client counterparts in designing their facilities. Here is what you’ll need: • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering • Current registration as an Electrical Professional Engineer within the State of CA. • Knowledge & application of NFPA 70 (NEC) and electrical design requirements • Knowledge & application of NFPA 400 Hazardous Materials Code • Knowledge of Fire Alarm systems and manufacturer’s equipment including VESDA systems • Design experience with Fire Alarm, VESDA systems, TGMS sensors, HPM sensors, and Leak Detection. • Knowledge of design and construction specifications • Experience working in construction environments including field verifications. • Strong communication skills both verbal and written. • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. • Proficient in using Microsoft Suite including MS Word, Access, Outlook and Excel. Ideally, you’ll also have: • Knowledge of IFC, IBC, NFPA 101 Life Safety Code, and NFPA 72 Fire Alarm and Signaling Code • Working knowledge of 3D BIM software (Revit) • Design experience in semiconductor or datacenters • Experience estimating and scheduling mid to large-scale projects • Understanding of diagrams and schematics as related to controls systems, networking, electrical and mechanical. • User level experience with AutoCAD computer drafting software. • Ability for forward thinking, eagerness to learn best practices, and to contribute with innovative ideas. • Displayed ability to learn quickly and a drive to broaden knowledge base. • Ability to collaborate and work effectively in a variety of teams, including multi-disciplinary teams. Other Requirements: Location: • This is an on-site position requiring work to be performed on the client site in Santa Clara/Sunnyvale, CA. • Candidate must be willing to commute to the site Monday-Friday during normal business hours - nominally 8:00 am to 5:00 pm with some flexibility based on ability of site to support and employee preference. Physical Requirements: • Position requires field visits and walks at an active client site in various stages of construction. Applicant must be able to walk long distances, sit and stand for extended periods, bend, stoop, twist, crawl, climb ladders, work on catwalks, work in small spaces, lift and carry up to 25lbs.
