Job Title: Electrical Engineering Manager
Salary/Grade: £51,736 - £60,000 per annum (depending on experience)
Location: Larne

25 days annual leave plus bank holidays
Up to 18% bonus
Car Allowance - £500pcm
Contributory pension scheme - Caterpillar will double the employee's contribution up to 6%
Contributory share scheme - Caterpillar will match 50% of the employee's contribution.

This position requires a 5-day-a-week schedule in the office.

The opportunity
We are seeking an Electrical Engineering Manager to join the Global Solutions Electrical Engineering team. This team is responsible for developing bespoke products to meet customer specifications across world excluding North America. Our focus is on global packaging of our large diesel gensets for data centres and other critical power applications.
What you will do:
Manage a team of Electrical/Electromechanical engineers, ensuring successful execution of projects, initiatives & processes for reciprocating engine-driven electric power product design and development.
Monitor and continuously improve product and process performance, quality and cost-effectiveness for all engineering activities and deliverables.
Provide leadership to create and maintain processes used to design, develop and manufacture components, systems, products, and technologies.
Must demonstrate exceptional communication skills with both technical and commercial acumen able to translate direct customer feedback into profitable product designs that exceed customer expectations.
What you have:
Qualifications:
Degree in electrical engineering with extensive electrical engineering experience associated with electric power products. Lower academic qualifications will be considered if extensive experience in a relevant role(s) can be demonstrated.
Planning - Level Working Knowledge:
Experience of effective planning techniques and ability to contribute to operational planning in support of the overall business plan.
Under guidance, develops tactical plan for own direct responsibility.
Technical Excellence – Extensive Experience:
Knowledge of design, development and manufacture of electric power products, related controls and switchgear.
Provides effective solutions to moderate technical challenges through strong technical competence, effectively examining implications of events and issues.
Mentors others to enhance their technical competence and its application to achieve more effective technical solutions.
Coaches others in promoting, defining, analyzing, and providing superior technical solutions to business problems.
Effective Communications – Level Working Knowledge:
Ability to translate complex technical concepts into actionable insights that enhance decision-making, improve operational efficiency, and support strategic initiatives.
Ability to utilize technical expertise and industry experience to influence cross-functional teams and stakeholders, driving alignment between engineering solutions and business objectives.
Customer/Market Focus - Level Working Knowledge:
Experience working directly with customers on design to order products.
Experience working with technical sales, sales, Engineering and dealers/distributors.
Managing People - Level Working Knowledge:
Ability to lead successful teams, and diligently address issues related to performance and conflicts at the workplace.
Works with employees to set and define performance standards and career development goals; supports in achieving them.
Additional information:
This role requires up to 15% travel.
