Your opportunity  

Dillon’s Electrical Discipline is looking for an Electrical Engineer-In-Training to join our multidisciplinary team of professionals. You will have the opportunity to work on new and exciting projects while providing clients with a fully integrated and superior customer experience.

Responsibilities

What your day will look like

 

Design and Project management

Assist project managers with electrical and multi-disciplinary projectsAssist in the preparation of electrical designs including: Design of traffic signals and roadway illuminationPreparation of lighting and traffic signal layoutsPreparation of wiring diagrams and electrical detailsPhotometric analysis of lighting systemsDesign of low voltage electrical distribution design for subdivisionsVoltage drop calculationsPreparation of contract documents and specificationsSite visits and contract administrationElectrical drafting of ongoing and new projects using CAD software Complete design activities to maintain project schedules and ensure successful project completionCollaborate with multidisciplinary team members Contribute to business development activities including client need research, preparation of project proposals and presentationsBusiness travel to other Dillon offices upon request

What you will need to succeed

A degree in electrical engineeringRegistration as an engineer-in-training in the province of Ontario, or be eligible within six monthsOne to two years’ work experience with exposure to consulting is considered an asset, however, new graduates will be considered Experience Knowledge of relevant municipal/provincial engineering standards and regulatory requirementsKnowledge of industry standards, specifications, and good engineering practicesUnderstanding of the range of project design and implementation activities including development of design drawings and reports, contract document preparation, tendering, and contract administrationProficient in the use of current AutoCAD software; working knowledge of Revit software will be considered an assetStrong verbal and written communication, organization and interpersonal skills
