The Pennsylvania Department of Corrections is searching for a dedicated and enthusiastic Electrical Engineer Consultant to represent the Bureau of Operations on construction projects contracted to licensed engineers or designed in-house. DESCRIPTION OF WORK In this position, you will perform a wide variety of electrical engineering duties in support of statewide corrections institutions. By using your expertise in electrical engineering principles and methods, you will develop solutions to operation, maintenance, design, or construction problems. Your duties will include reviewing and preparing all types of electrical engineering designs, as well as creating design drawings and specifications as required for construction projects. You can expect to conduct site surveys of construction projects, attend design review meetings and conferences, coordinate design efforts with all interested parties, and provide recommendations regarding equipment. Work Schedule and Additional Information: + Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week + Work hours are 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch. + Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, up to 3 days per week after the initial 6-moth training period. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania.
