What You’ll Do
+ Electrical hardware Design, test, implement and support product redesign/refresh and cost-reduction project.
+ Support traditional sustaining responsibilities such as failure analysis, component qualifications and performance improvements.
+ Participate in multi-disciplinary project teams to drive a design change for a specific purpose.
+ Provide “lessons-learned” feedback to the Product Development team and participate in design reviews to ensure that the next generation of Sonos products are better than ever.
+ Partner cross-functionally with Quality and Customer Support to fully understand the user experience and any design change implications.
+ Work directly with our Compliance Engineering team to ensure our product’s continued compliance with regulations and international standards.
+ Drive continuous improvements in engineering processes and best practices.
+ Travel to our JDM partners and suppliers to support product builds and resolve technical problems, as needed.
What You’ll Need
The ideal candidate will have a combination of electrical design and sustaining engineering work experience and demonstrated technical abilities. Other important qualifications include:
+ Minimum of 5 years of Hardware design/development (PCBA level), electrical engineering experience for a Bachelor’s degree, preferably in product development of consumer electronics.
+ Major experience in the Analog signal chain, audio signal, Class-D amplifier design;
+ Experienced in the audio precision testing, troubleshooting, understanding the amplifier circuitry; Experienced in the EMC and compliance testing and troubleshooting.
+ Experience with schematic entry and PCB layout tools, understandable of PCB routing technology especially on the high speed bus.
+ Technically inquisitive – must be able to take on new technical challenges, learn new technical skills on-the-fly and apply that knowledge to solve the issue at hand.
+ Proficient in English, as demonstrated by both verbal and written methods.
+ Need to be daily based in SONOS Shanghai office (Minhang district)
+ Need to be able to travel to our contract manufacturing production lines to support the builds, testing and debugging. Travel frequency is roughly about once a month depending on the project schedule.
Preferred Qualifications
+ Minimum of 5 years of Hardware design/development (PCBA level), electrical engineering experience for a Master’s degree, or 7 years of experience for a Bachelor’s degree, consumer electronics product and radio system development experience;
+ With experience of power and audio amplifier development experience;
+ Understanding of compliance engineering including Safety and EMC/EMI or Radio certification, be able to do EMC debugging and troubleshooting.
+ A mix of product development and operation engineering experience, having cost down projects experience is a plus.
+ Having leadership skills, being able to manage JDM engineers and run projects in JDM way.
