Electrical Engineer
Job Title: Electrical EngineerJob Description

We are seeking a skilled Electrical Engineer to address complex engineering problems and develop innovative solutions for our technical challenges. The role involves working on EMALS and AAG systems and subsystems, ensuring that they meet design and operational requirements.

ResponsibilitiesEvaluate, interpret, and resolve systems engineering problems to meet design requirements.Develop innovative solutions to technical problems in engineering.Address complex technical and manufacturing issues during the build of EMALS and AAG systems and subsystems.Create, re-draw, and update drawings utilizing engineering change processes and tools.Participate in internal and external technical project/program reviews, including preliminary and critical/detailed design reviews.Prepare and review documented design inputs for electrical design.Identify obsolescence required to support the continuous operation of EMALS and AAG systems.Troubleshoot conflicting design/development requirements, coordination requirements, and special material requirements.Review requirement matrix and statement of work to generate basis of estimates for customer proposals.Generate plans and procedures for systems qualification testing and factory acceptance testing.Present reports at engineering meetings, participate in program reviews, and consult on problems.
Essential SkillsExperience in PCB design, including high power, digital, and analog.Knowledge of obsolescence redesign.Familiarity with MIL standards, IPC standards, PADS, IPC, Creo, and cable harness design.
Additional Skills & QualificationsBachelor's degree, master's degree, or PhD in engineering or a related technical discipline from an accredited institution.Progressive engineering experience: four or more years with a bachelor's degree or two or more years with a master's degree.Experience with electrical design change processes, including Engineering Change Notification (ECN) and configuration management tools.Experience with analog, digital, and power PCB design, as well as electrical schematic entry and printed circuit board layout.Experience with FPGA circuitry design and coding in associated VHDL development environments.
Work Environment

The role involves working closely with a team lead and associated electrical engineers on projects. The work environment supports electrical designs from conception to operational test and deployment. Engineers are expected to provide design support and guidance in electronics system development, be familiar with specifications for electronics component development, and design electrical components and lab instrumentation test systems. The position requires the development of test verification and acceptance test procedures, as well as testing various digital/analog sensor emulation systems.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Poway, California.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $75.00/hr.
