PDS Tech Commercial is partnering with a leader in fire apparatus manufacturing to hire an Electrical Engineer in Dublin, Ohio. For over a century, this company has built advanced, life-saving vehicles for first responders across the nation — and now you can play a key role in shaping their next generation.

Flexible shifts: 6 AM–4 PM, 7 AM–5 PM, or 8 AM–6 PM, Monday–Friday

What You’ll Do

As an Electrical Engineer, you will play a key role in developing electrical systems for custom-built fire apparatus. You’ll collaborate with mechanical engineers, technicians, and production teams to ensure vehicles meet rigorous quality, safety, and regulatory standards.

Essential Functions

Design, test, and oversee the installation of electrical systems for emergency vehicles with a focus on safety and reliability.

Provide production support for electrical assembly and installation.

Develop, validate, and maintain hardware component selection, schematic designs, and wire harness diagrams for system integration.

Program and validate software components using C, C++, and other proprietary systems. Knowledge of J1939 CAN bus is required.

Apply engineering principles for troubleshooting and root cause analysis.

Enforce and implement standards in a multi-disciplinary design environment.

Maintain compliance with NFPA 70 (National Electric Code) and NFPA 79 (Electrical Standard for Industrial Machinery).

Classify and address obsolescence concerns with existing apparatus.

Participate in technical reviews of requirements, specifications, and designs.

Collaborate with suppliers and product verification/validation resources to execute action plans.

Drive continuous improvement projects and ensure deliverables stay within budget and timelines.

What You’ll Bring

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.

Proven experience in electrical systems design and integration.

Proficiency in C/C++ programming and familiarity with CAN bus (J1939).

Strong knowledge of NFPA 70 and NFPA 79 standards.

Excellent problem-solving and collaboration skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in vehicle or heavy equipment electrical systems.

Familiarity with manufacturing and assembly processes.

Strong communication and documentation skills

Pay Details: $45.00 per hour
