Job Title: Electrical Engineer - ONSITE IN MICHIGAN CITY, IN Job Description We are seeking a dedicated Electrical Engineer to engage in cost reduction projects on legacy products. The role involves close collaboration with suppliers and the internal design team to implement design changes, as well as assisting with troubleshooting product and integration issues. This position requires excellent communication skills to work effectively with production and quality departments. Responsibilities + Design, develop, and integrate electrical systems into products using catalogue components and innovative design solutions. + Research and evaluate new technology in electric motors and drives for incremental product improvements in cost, performance, and features. + Design, develop, and maintain electrical systems and components to required specifications, focusing on safety, reliability, quality, cost, and sustainability. + Create wiring schematics, electrical harnesses, related mechanical components, and bills of material. + Design, size, and integrate a starting device system in a multiple motor application. + Size and integrate variable speed drives based upon application, current, and dimensional requirements. + Size and integrate overload and short circuit current protection based upon current, NEC, CE, NEC, and UL requirements. Essential Skills + Bachelor's degree in engineering. + 1-3+ years of Electrical Engineering experience. + Experience completing design reviews for cost reduction projects. + Proficiency in electric motor controls, transformers, or drives. + Hardware design and cost reduction experience. + Cost analysis, troubleshooting, design review, and risk assessment skills. + Ability to create schematics and manage bill of materials. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Experience designing within NX. + Experience conducting risk assessments. Work Environment This role is based in the Michigan City facility, which has recently undergone office upgrades. The successful candidate will be part of a team of 10+ engineers, working cross-functionally with production, quality, and suppliers in a collaborative environment. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Michigan City, Indiana. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $38.00/hr.
