Job Description
This role is for a Battery Energy Storage System Engineer based in McDonough, GA. The position requires an individual with experience in battery integration and familiarity with battery energy storage system standards and design. A Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering is essential. This is a technical lead role, interacting with other engineering departments and OEMs, but is an individual contributor position. The contract is for an initial six months with a potential six-month extension, requiring at least three years of experience.
ResponsibilitiesOwn and coordinate system-level development and maintain system architecture diagrams and documentation that describe the dynamic behavior and structure of Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) across all development phases.Translate stakeholder and customer requirements into system and component level specifications tailored for Battery Energy Storage Systems.Collaborate with software, hardware, mechanical, and system integration teams to define and evaluate the system architecture, ensuring functional alignment and efficient interfaces.Support Verification & Validation, System Integration and Test, and Technical project leads to define system integration, verification, and validation strategies for storage systems.Essential SkillsExperience in battery integration within an EV environment, either on-road or off-road.Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field with significant work in the electrical space.Familiarity with standards for battery energy storage systems, AC/DC processes, thermal management, design engineering, microgrid, BESS, BMS, and Creo.Strong understanding of system requirements engineering, interface definition, and architectural design.Ability to collaborate in cross-functional teams and manage system integration with mechanical, electrical, and software stakeholders.Analytical mindset and structured approach to solving complex engineering problems.Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.Additional Skills & QualificationsSeveral years of experience in system-level development of battery systems, energy storage technologies, or power electronics applications in BESS or automotive industries.Familiarity with standards and practices in BESS- / Grid-related norms (e.g., UL 9540, IEC, EN50549, IEEE1547) is considered a plus.Work Environment

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $45.00/hr.
