About the Job

We are seeking an Electrical Designer to support engineering teams in the design and documentation of electrical systems for a variety of building projects. This role is ideal for someone early in their career who is eager to grow their technical skills and gain exposure to a wide range of engineering tasks. Under close supervision, you will assist Engineers, Project Managers, and other team members with calculations, drawings, and code research.

Job ResponsibilitiesPerform electrical design calculations for low/medium voltage power distribution, lighting, fire/security systems, and telecommunications.Create sketches, technical comparisons, and other design documentation.Coordinate assignments with Engineers, Project Managers, and other team members.Review and suggest revisions to drawings from vendors, clients, and consultants.Research building codes and coordinate with city, state, and county officials.Explore design options and document findings for project teams.Attend site visits, project kick-off meetings, and design reviews as needed.Support Engineers and Project Managers with additional tasks as assigned.Job RequirementsProficiency in Autodesk Revit and AutoCAD.Familiarity with Microsoft Word and Excel.Understanding of building codes and electrical design standards.Ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately.Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn.Credentials and ExperienceBachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering.FE certification or eligibility to take the Fundamentals of Engineering exam.At least 4 years of experience using word processing and spreadsheet software.Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered at management’s discretion.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $70.00/hr.
