Job Description

As an Electrical Engineer, you will be at the forefront of developing a cutting-edge unnamed aerial system designed to tackle a variety of situations, including forest fires, transportation challenges, geographic surveys, agriculture, first aid, and environmental issues.

ResponsibilitiesSupport incident investigation and system troubleshooting by providing technical expertise to diagnose and resolve complex issues.Develop top-level electrical system design, define system architecture, and guide decisions on subsystem integration.Participate in drafting and reviewing technical documentation, including System Safety Assessment, qualification plans, Interface Control Document (ICD), requirements and tests, and electrical diagrams.Conduct trade studies, component selection, and design assessments to identify optimal solutions for UAS electrical systems.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support end-to-end integration of electrical components, ensuring system requirements are met.Demonstrate technical leadership by setting standards for system architecture and acting as a design authority for UAS electrical engineering projects.Mentor junior engineers and contribute to knowledge sharing across the engineering team.Participate in continuous improvement initiatives, promoting best practices in systems architecture, design, and reliability.Essential Skills8+ years of experience in electrical engineering.Experience in electrical circuit testing, defining test strategies, developing test procedures, and executing test activities.Proficiency in designing electrical circuits, schematics, and interconnect diagrams.Familiarity with electrical engineering principles, including schematic, PCB design, electrical interconnects, and electrical harness.Experience with test procedures and test plans.Additional Skills & QualificationsBachelor's or Master's degree in electrical engineering, aerospace, or a similar field.General knowledge of aeronautics and avionics systems, including communications, navigation, autopilot, and engine interface.Knowledge of aeronautical certification standards such as ARP4754A, DO-254, DO-178, DO-160.Membership with the Ordre des Ingénieurs du Québec (P.Eng.).Autonomy, adaptability, strong interpersonal skills, structured, and effective communication abilities.Fluency in both French and English.Work Environment

You will work three days on-site at our Sherbrooke office, collaborating with a team of 13 engineers on the RPAS project. The team includes one Electrical Engineer based in Calgary and 10 engineers from another team. The role includes occasional paid travel to a site one hour from Sherbrooke. Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $60.00/hr.
