Electrical Engineer

The Electrical Engineer is responsible for the design, documentation, and implementation of electrical systems for all new products. This role is a key member of the New Product Development Engineering (NPDE) team responsible for engineering safe, high quality, and innovative pontoon boats for our customers. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES : · Design, document and implement electrical systems for all new products · Ensure the compliance of all electrical systems (new and existing) with all USCG, ABYC, CE and other regulatory agencies · Ensure the interface between all engines, MFDs, and various other systems · Work with external suppliers to specify and create new parts and systems · Complete all necessary electrical load, wire size, and circuit protection calculations · Develop digital switching systems as appropriate · Create 3D harness routing and production drawings · Create electrical systems installation drawings · Provide technical expertise and transfer knowledge to the technicians and NPI · Develop Electrical Standards Library and provide training to technicians and operations SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE: + Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent technical experience required + 3-5 years of electrical product design experience with knowledge of manufacturing/production processes + Computer Aided Design experience; AutoCAD, Unigraphics, SolidWorks, Catia or Pro E preferred; 3D modeling skills desirable + Experience with multiplexing/digital switching, telematics, and marine electronics desirable + Knowledge of standards applied by the American Boat & Yacht Council (ABYC) + Boating, fishing and/or marine industry experience desirable + Commitment to quality and standards accepted by the industry + Must interface well with other employee's and departments throughout the organization as well as outside vendors, dealers and retail customers + Must be able to work extra hours required to assure timely completion of critical projects + Proficiency in all Microsoft Office applications + Sound problem solving and decision making abilities WORKING CONDITIONS: + Dynamic fast-paced cross functional team environment Equal Opportunity Employer Minorities/Women/Protected Veterans/Disabled
