DoorDash Labs is an independent team within DoorDash. We are working on building autonomous delivery robots from the ground-up and other automation solutions as part of DoorDash's core delivery platform. If you have a passion for applying AI and robotics solutions in a service used by millions of people, then we want to talk to you!
About the RoleWe are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to develop and maintain automation frameworks and functional test setups for power and high-speed designs. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in LabVIEW development, power electronics, and high-speed signal testing. This role will focus on automating test processes, analyzing test results, and ensuring product performance meets stringent design specifications.
You will report to the Lead of our Core Engineering team based in San Francisco. This role is in-office.
You're excited about this opportunity because you will… Test Automation Development Develop, implement, and maintain automated test scripts using LabVIEW for custom power and high-speed designs. Create modular and reusable test frameworks to support rapid validation of product performance. Functional Testing Design and execute functional tests for power electronics and high-speed interfaces (e.g., PCIe, USB, Ethernet). This requires cross-collaboration with EE design and FW team to understand scope and method of tests to run at EOL. Develop and configure test instrumentation for power and signal integrity analysis (e.g., oscilloscopes, power analyzers). Automate high-speed signal characterization and power cycling tests. Data Analysis & Reporting Capture, process, and analyze test data to identify trends, failures, and performance bottlenecks. Generate test reports with statistical analysis and present findings to cross-functional teams. Test Infrastructure & Maintenance Design and maintain test benches, fixtures, and automated test equipment (ATE). Ensure calibration and traceability of test instrumentation. Implement self-diagnostic and health-monitoring routines in automated test setups. Process Improvement Optimize test execution time and resource utilization. Develop guidelines and best practices for test automation in power and high-speed domains. We're excited about you because… Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field. 8+ years of experience with LabVIEW development, test automation, and functional testing. Strong background in power electronics and high-speed signal design/testing. Hands-on experience with test equipment (oscilloscopes, power supplies, signal analyzers). Understanding of signal integrity, power integrity, and EMI/EMC principles. Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Python) for data processing and automation. Familiarity with PCIe, USB, Ethernet, and other high-speed protocols. Preferred Qualifications… Certified LabVIEW Architect (CLAD). Experience with automotive tier-1 suppliers in setting up automation testing environments. On-site debugging experience with tier-1 suppliers. Knowledge of test standards for power and high-speed electronics.
