Job Title: Electrical Drafter
Job Description

Join a dynamic team of Power Delivery professionals as a Drafter in our Substation group, providing designer support for both large and small scale substation engineering projects.

ResponsibilitiesCreate electrical drawings for facilities, including lighting systems, power systems, communications, security, and fire detection in compliance with the National Electrical Code (NEC).Develop entry-level drawings using computer-aided design software under the direct supervision of Electrical Technicians or Engineers.Demonstrate knowledge of procedures for the production of design developments and construction documents, along with a thorough understanding of engineering planning, drafting, and detailing.Perform other duties as needed.Essential SkillsAssociate or technical school degree, or a combination of education and relevant computer skills.Proficiency in Microsoft Office and AutoCAD.Familiarity with Database/Document Management.Commitment to actively participating in an employee-owned culture.Additional Skills & Qualifications1+ years of experience in designing electrical lighting, power, and systems for building projects.Experience in Healthcare, Science and Technology, and/or Civic facilities.Experience with an architectural/engineering or engineering consulting firm is highly desirable.Interest in sustainable design/LEED is desired.Experience with MicroStation is a plus.Work Environment

This role offers an excellent growth opportunity for a self-directed individual eager to learn and take on new challenges. Initially, the candidate will work in-office and may transition to a hybrid schedule after demonstrating the ability to work independently. Office locations include LA, Irvine, or potentially SD, with preference for Irvine for initial training and equipment setup. The team consists of fewer than 10 people, and the candidate will work closely with other engineers. Remote work may be possible after proving competence, but in-office presence is required initially.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $32.00/hr.
