Job Description
A manufacturer of surface heaters, temperature controllers, and insulators. Their products are used in hundreds of industries to prevent freezing, keep contents flowing, maintain critical process temperatures, and more. They are currently looking for an Electrical Designer to join their team.
The Electrical Designer will be responsible for designing electrical control panels, power distribution panels, and other electrical control products. The role involves creating shop drawings, electrical schematics, and bills of materials using various applications.
Responsibilities:
• Develop wiring schematics for electrical panels.
• Determine and create drawings detailing component layout and mounting positions.
• Create bills of material (BOMs), product descriptions, and labels for electrical panels.
• Identify suitable components based on ratings, dimensions, and other factors.
• Review customer requirements and propose possible solutions.
• Review and understand component datasheets and manuals.
• Work with manufacturing employees to understand drawings and answer questions.
• Design simple mechanical mounting brackets and fixtures.
• Develop programming routines for logic controllers (PLCs) / temperature controllers.
• Assist sales and application engineering with answering customer questions and solving issues.
• Assist with product compliance reviews and agency certifications.
• Perform any other duties as assigned by manager.
Must Have
• Bachelor or Associates of Science in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience
• 3-5 years of electrical design experience preferred
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and mechanical drawings.
• Strong working knowledge of high-voltage circuitry, including both single and three-phase applications.
• 2-3 years of experience working with electrical panels (Design, panel assembly, and/or panel wiring)
• Experience with SolidWorks Electrical
Nice to Have
• Experience with UL 508A Training / Certification
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $31.25 - $38.46/hr.
