POSITION: Electrical Design Engineer
POSITION: Prepare Electrical drawings using CAD/Revit showing electrical device layouts, circuitry, fixtures, equipment, fire alarm devices and other essential elements; design lighting fixture layouts and switching layouts and perform photometric calculations to ensure efficient illumination; perform electrical calculations using Powertools for available fault current, voltage drop and implement proper AIC ratings of equipment; prepare one-line diagrams to illustrate the distribution and control of electrical systems; calculate electrical loads and develop panel schedules to detail the distribution and circuitry of electrical panels; understand and correctly apply concepts of emergency and normal power systems, including the integration of backup generators, UPS systems, and other measures; and ensure design compliance with the latest electrical codes, standards, and best practices, including NEC and IEEE standards. Up to 40% remote work allowed. Must live within normal commuting distance of the worksite.
REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field plus 1 year of related experience. Required skills: Assist in developing comprehensive design specification documents, detailed electrical schematics, and block diagrams for projects using Electra Cloud; Source and specify components for a Low Voltage Battery Charger balancing performance, longevity, and cost efficiency to optimize system design and reduce overall project costs; Test the functionality, performance, and compliance of each product against design specifications and electrical standards such as IEEE and ISO, maintaining high-quality development standards and customer satisfaction; Lead and train interns in module overhaul and testing processes, fostering a collaborative team environment that encourages knowledge sharing and skill development; Collaborate with the senior engineers to troubleshoot electrical design challenges and develop innovative solutions, ensuring compliance with industry standards; Coordinate with multi-disciplinary teams to align electrical testing and designs with project timelines and client requirements, contributing to successful project delivery. Up to 20% domestic and international travel required.
Full time. The pay range for this role is $90,688 to $100,688 per year. Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience, certifications, and specific work location. This may be different in other locations due to differences in the cost of labor.
