Job Description
The Instrumentation/Electrical Maintenance Planner is responsible for reviewing, estimating, purchasing, and keeping a record of all work requests, including requests for labor, tools, materials, and equipment. This position plays a fundamental role in planning work activities, ensuring safe work practices, and adhering to company policies and procedures.
ResponsibilitiesManage work requests received from and authorized by maintenance service users.Coordinate all details relating to completion of work request, including work scope, labor, tools, materials, and equipment.Track and record all costs associated with specific work orders.Plan, estimate costs, and request staff, materials, and equipment necessary for approval of work requests.Ensure work plans follow safety practices, procedures, and company policy.Manage maintenance records essential for the Planning and Scheduling Department to provide effective operations.Work effectively and cooperatively with Maintenance Supervisors, Operations, and Purchasing Departments to coordinate and schedule planned work for maximum efficiency and cost management.Assist the scheduling team in organizing and communicating plans on a daily and weekly basis.Maintain an efficient work environment that promotes employee participation and develops leadership skills.Follow all safety policies and guidelines.Maintain a clean and safe work environment, including active participation in monthly safety meetings.Essential SkillsHigh School diploma, GED or equivalent.An Associate degree in Instrumentation Technology or Electrical would be an asset.Journeyman Certification would be an asset.NEC Working Knowledge would be an asset.5+ years of instrumentation field experience, including troubleshooting and repair.10+ years of experience in planning and scheduling maintenance work would be an asset.Extensive working knowledge and experience in instrumentation/electrical repairs.Maintenance and Supervisory experience.Proficiency in electrical troubleshooting, instrumentation controls, and instrumentation engineering.Familiarity with SAP software.Additional Skills & QualificationsPrevious experience in ordering materials and services, preparing and evaluating bid packages, and developing contracts with suppliers/vendors.General knowledge of all refinery maintenance practices.Experience with safe work practices in an oil refinery environment accompanied by a superior safety attitude would be an asset.Ability to develop scope and plans for preventive maintenance work.Above average skills in planning, scheduling, and cost control.Work Environment
This role requires working onsite for five days at a refinery. The work environment is focused on safety and efficiency, promoting a participative and leadership-developing atmosphere.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $60.45 - $72.82/hr.
