Job Overview:

The EKG Technician performs non-invasive cardiac testing inclusive of ECG, Holter monitoring and assistance with stress testing; provides physicians with data for use in diagnosing cardiac abnormalities; participates in unit quality improvement. Uses an understanding of principles of growth and development to determine each patient’s age-specific needs and provides age-specific treatment.

 

Qualifications:

Required:

High School diploma or equivalentBLSSuccessful completion of a six-month probationary training period under the guidance of a qualified preceptorSuccessful completion of all orientation programsBLS through the American Heart Association

Preferred:

Previous acute care experience

 

Scheduling Requirements:

Day ShiftPer Diem Scheduling

 

Essential Functions:

Assists physicians with on-site and remote editing of EKGs as neededProcesses EKG after order and demographic verificationObtains 12 lead EKGsHoltor monitoringAssistance with stress testingPerforms other duties as required by the department
