Job Summary
Performs electrocardiograms (EKGs), signal-averages EKGs, applies Holter and Event monitors and instructs patients in their use.
Essential Functions
Obtains routine and specialized electrocardiograms (EKGs).
Identifies basic cardiac rhythms and notifies appropriate people if significant abnormalities detected
Informs patients and significant others about treatments being received, equipment being utilized and other related activities as appropriate
Documents care in a manner consistent with documentation standards
Communicates with other members of the health care team, patients and families in order to ensure continuity of care and coordination of services
Maintains equipment and communicates any equipment malfunctions to appropriate personnel
Qualifications
Required
High School Diploma or equivalent
CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA American Heart Association 90 Days Or
CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - ARC American Red Cross 90 Days
Preferred
Associate's Degree Successful completion of college-level anatomy and physiology courses
