Job Description
We are seeking a multidisciplinary engineer with robust expertise in electrical, instrumentation, and controls engineering. The role involves working across these domains with a focus on electrical systems and instrumentation & controls. The ideal candidate will manage projects, coordinate with vendors, oversee construction, and ensure compliance with industry standards.
ResponsibilitiesManage electrical systems, including low-voltage systems, MCCs, panel boards, and power distribution layouts.Oversee and validate detailed engineering drawings and material take-offs.Design and integrate PLC (Allen-Bradley) and DCS (Honeywell, DeltaV) systems.Develop SCADA and HMI automation documentation, including control narratives and cause & effect charts.Specify, select, and integrate process instruments such as flow, level, pressure, and temperature sensors into control systems.Prepare RFQs, conduct technical bid evaluations, and coordinate with vendors.Supervise contractor work, QA/QC documentation, and fabrication/assembly processes.Manage EI&C installation, site inspections, and system commissioning.Troubleshoot and support start-up and performance testing.Ensure design and implementation compliance with CSA, IEEE, IEC, ATEX, and other relevant safety standards.Analyze complex systems, troubleshoot issues, and optimize performance.Support CAPEX/OPEX studies and technical evaluations.Communicate effectively with junior engineers, drafting teams, clients, and stakeholders.Essential SkillsP.ENG certification or within a year of receiving it with APEGA.Minimum of 6 years of experience as an EIC engineer.Experience in packaging, preparing, and coordinating from bid stage to design engineering.Ability to handle external vendors and provide technical guidance.Proficiency in preparing estimates and proposals.Strong communication skills.Knowledge of electrical circuits, power distributions, and control systems.Experience with sensors, measurement instruments, and data acquisition systems.Additional Skills & QualificationsProficiency in AutoCad and AutoCad Electrical.Project management experience and familiarity with project planning tools such as MS Project and Primavera.Strong technical writing and documentation skills.Understanding of OT cybersecurity best practices.Experience with change management and adaptability.Client-facing experience, including presentations and technical discussions.Hands-on field experience with installations, inspections, and contractor coordination.Leadership and mentorship abilities.Knowledge of energy-efficient design practices and green engineering principles.Business acumen and understanding of CAPEX/OPEX implications.Additional certifications like PMI PMP, ISA CAP, or NFPA 70E are beneficial.Commitment to continuous learning and professional development.Work Environment
The position is based onsite, with occasional visits to client locations. The work environment supports a growing team, with opportunities for training and mentorship. The role involves working with advanced technologies in a dynamic and collaborative setting.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $130000.00 - $145000.00/yr.
