EHS VP - Data Center – Lubbock, TX

We are seeking a Vice President of EHS (Environment, Health, and Safety) to be onsite managing the Critical Site Safety for the Data Center Campus. They will lead and manage the EHS for data center construction, facility operations and warehouse at a major data center campus supporting HPC / High Performance Compute - near Lubbock, TX. This position is ideal for a systems-oriented leader with a deep understanding of environmental health and safety (EHS) compliance and operations in high-risk, high-tech environments. The successful candidate will drive strategic safety initiatives, oversee emergency preparedness and business continuity planning, and foster a culture of proactive risk management across the site.
Responsibilities:
Lead and implement health and safety standards, policies, and procedures including safety management systems, training, risk assessments, and regulatory complianceConduct site audits for data center facility operations and construction zones to ensure adherence to safety protocols and life safety requirementsEnsure implementation of safety programs that exceed regulatory compliance across campus operationsDevelop from scratch SOPs, EOPs, and MOPs; review emergency response plans, business continuity programs, etcMaintain accurate safety records and ensure integrity of compliance dataAnalyze safety data and trends to support continuous improvement initiativesServe as the key liaison with internal compliance teams, providing expert guidance and interpretation of EHS standardsIdentify operational risks and collaborate with operations leadership to apply the hierarchy of controls for remediationLead daily safety briefings and serve as the on-site authority for EHS-related mattersOwn performance metrics for EHS and develop annual improvement plansConduct workplace risk assessments and hazard analysesSupport root cause investigations for safety incidents and ensure implementation of corrective and preventive measuresDeliver EHS regulatory training and maintain up-to-date knowledge of applicable standardsCommunicate effectively with leadership and stakeholders to drive safety culture and accountabilityProvide consistent reporting, updates, and briefings on safety metrics and initiativesQualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Operations, Engineering, or related field7+ years of progressive EHS leadership experience in data center, or similar environmentsPrevious experience working onsite at a Data Center supporting EHS for both facility operations / construction a mustPrevious experience managing inventory management / warehouse operations a plusPrevious Data Center Industry standards and infrastructure strongly preferredPrevious experience working in a Data Center supporting an HPC environment a huge plus!Demonstrated experience in managing site safety programs and regulatory complianceOSHA Certifications a plusAdvanced knowledge of regulatory safety standards; familiarity with CNESST and NEBOSH standards a huge plusProven leadership in developing safety programs, emergency response plans, and operational procedures - SOPs, MOPs, EOPsExperience managing audits, incident investigations, and training programsStrong communication and presentation skills with the ability to interface across multiple departmentsAbility to influence safety culture and promote a proactive, high-performing team environmentMilitary veterans with technical experience in electrical/mechanical systems highly encouraged to apply (e.g., Navy nukes, Seabees, Army Power Generation, Air Force Power Production, etc.) with experience in safety, facilities, or technical operations are strongly encouraged to applyRelocate to Lubbock TX or nearby community as this is an onsite roleSubmittal Instructions:
