General Reponsibilty: The EHS Training Technician works within the Safety Department, supporting the delivery and tracking of training for employees, contractors, and visitors. This position focuses on hands-on safety instruction, new hire orientation, monthly safety topics, and training documentation. It also supports site-wide training activities related to PEAK (Planning, Engagement, Achievement, and Knowledge) and assists SEAL (Safety, Excellence and Leadership) owners in meeting training and compliance goals. The technician reports to the Safety Manager and plays a key role in ensuring employees are trained, prepared, and working safely.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Safety Training Delivery & Support
+ Conduct safety and job-specific training for all new hires before they begin work on site
+ Track and ensure safety training is completed for all contractors and visitors prior to entering the facility
+ Provide monthly safety training sessions for employees in all departments and shifts
+ Send reminders for upcoming required trainings and follow up on missed sessions
+ Support employees needing language help by following Safety Manager guidance and arranging translators when needed
+ Deliver retraining and refresher sessions as needed following safety incidents, near misses, or audit findings
+ Track training attendance and maintain records using Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, Forms, Outlook, Excel, and Word
+ Manage and maintain the site-wide and individual training matrices to ensure all required training is completed and up to date
+ Work with SEAL owners to make sure required training and certifications are scheduled and completed
+ Ensure training documents, sign-in sheets, and materials are current and organized
+ Maintain organized digital training files and folders in SharePoint to ensure version control and easy access
+ Assist with uploading approved training materials to SharePoint or other internal platforms as directed
+ Notify supervisors of upcoming or overdue training and help schedule sessions when needed
+ Distribute and post visual training tools like signs, job aids, or quick guides as directed
+ Prepare and provide training documentation during internal or external audits as requested by the Safety Manager
+ Maintain safety communication boards with current training announcements and materials
+ Work with staffing agencies to ensure temporary workers receive required safety training
PEAK Training Support
+ Support training initiatives aligned with PEAK standards
+ Assist with setup and logistics for PEAK-related training sessions across departments
+ Coordinate with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to prepare materials for PEAK and process improvement training
+ Help update and maintain PEAK-related documentation and training tools
+ Ensure PEAK training events and certifications are added to the site-wide training calendar and tracked in the training matrix
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
+ High school diploma or GED
+ Strong communication and listening skills
+ Patience and support when working with employees learning English as a second language
+ Well-organized and reliable with strong attention to detail
+ Comfortable using Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Forms
+ Able to work 11:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m. and adjust schedule when needed to support all shifts
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
+ Work takes place in classrooms, offices, and on the plant floor
+ Must be able to walk, stand, and occasionally lift to 25 lbs.
+ Will wear PPE as needed and work respectfully with all shifts and departments
