EHS Supervisor
Description Position at SBM Management

The EHS Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing the safety program to ensure safe, healthy, and accident-free work environment by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate employees.

  

ResponsibilitiesOversee and adhere to safety policies and procedures in compliance with local, state, and federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) rules and regulationsAssist with training employees in work site safety practices, fire prevention, and correct handling techniques for chemicals, toxins, equipment, and other materialsInspect organization facilities to detect existing or potential accident and health hazards, determine corrective or preventative measures where indicated, and follow up to ensure measures have been implementedProvide information, signs, posters, barriers, and other materials to warn of potential and actual safety hazards and to prevent access to hazardous conditionsLead the investigation of accidents and injuries and cooperate in the preparation of material and evidence for organization use in hearings, lawsuits, and insurance investigationsCompile and submit accident reports required by regulatory agenciesOversee the administration of workers' compensation program, including working with the insurance carrier to reduce employee lost timePrepare and arrange safety exhibits and material for display, promotional work, industry conferences, and exhibitionsRepresent the organization in community or industry safety groups and programsMaintain safety files and recordsSome travel may be required for this positionResponsibilities include interviewing, hiring, planning, assigning, and directing work; performance evaluations; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.Ensure employees are properly trained on tasks and safety requirements.Carries out management responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Business Management or a related field from a four-year college or university with 5-8 years of experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.Must have a minimum of five years of heavy industrial or manufacturing Safety experience.May be required to have a valid driver’s license.Evening position. 


Compensation: $85,000 - $90,000 per year  

Shift: Variable
